    Career @ PEAK

    The Institute of Professional Education And Knowledge (PEAK) is one of the member institutions of the Vocational Training Council responsible for the provision of in-service training and professional examination services.  More than 200 major companies have utilized its corporate training services and, in AY2015/16, annual enrolment of all its courses has exceeded 90,000.

    • Part-time Lecturers/Instructors (Ref: PEAK/PTL/3209/17-18)

    Subject Areas:

    Development and Production of the Specification of Competency Standards (SCS) for the Arboriculture and Horticulture Industry

    Major Duties:

    (1) To provide expert advice on the development of the SCS;

    (2) To attend meetings with stakeholders such as industry associations and experts, Government Departments, relevant committees and sub-committees, as well as Qualifications Framework Secretariat, etc.;

    (3) To assist in writing up the Units of Competency for the Arboriculture and Horticulture Industry; and

    (4) To assist in quality assurance of the deliverables.

    Requirements:

    (a) A recognized relevant degree or equivalent; AND

    (b) At least 3 years' experience in the provision of arboriculture and/or horticulture training courses or 3 years’ experience in the arboriculture or horticulture industry; AND

    (c) Good communication skills in Chinese and English; AND

    (d) A good understanding of the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework and the development of SCS; AND

    (e) Available to work during normal office hours.

    Notes:

    1. Candidates without the required academic qualification stated in (a) above but

    (i) with relevant recognized Higher Diploma or equivalent plus at least 3 years’ experience in relevant industry; OR

    (ii) at least 8 years' working experience in relevant industry or language teaching*

    will be considered for the post of “Part-time Instructor”.

    *Where applicable, these candidates may be required to have a Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 3 qualification.

    2. For the post of Part-time Instructor, candidates are required to pass a trade test.

    • Term Executive Assistant II (Ref: PEAK/EA2/3509/17-18)

    Major Duties:

    (a) To provide support in one or more of the following areas: 

    (i) General and Programme administration; 

    (ii) Student affairs and student admissions; 

    (iii) Promotion and publicity work; and 

    (iv) Secretarial and administrative support for senior level staff 

    (b) To provide counter services and handle enquiries;

    (c) To assist in providing secretarial support for meetings of operational units; 

    (d) To draft simple correspondence 

    Requirements:

    (a)(i) 5 subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) at Grade E/Level 2 or above including English Language (Syllabus B)*, Chinese Language and Mathematics, or equivalent; OR

    (ii) A combination of results in 5 subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination at Level 2 or above in New Senior Secondary subjects / “Attained” or above in Applied Learning subjects / Grade E or above in Other Language subjects; and the 5 subjects should include English Language*, Chinese Language and Mathematics; OR 

    (iii) A recognized Certificate / Diploma / Foundation Diploma / Foundation Certificate, or Project Yi Jin. 

    * Completion of Hong Kong Vocational English Programme (HKVEP) at Level 2/Passing 5 specific VTC’s Vocational English Module Certificates is considered an alternative qualification.

    (b) Proficiency in computer software application, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing;

    (c) Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;

    (d) Ability to work independently and be a good team player; 

    (e) Good work initiative and be customer-orientated; and

    (f) Experience in providing customer service to adult learners would be added advantages

    Notes:

    (1) Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend a computer skills test in MS Word, MS Excel and Chinese word processing [Chajei (倉頡) or Quick/Easy (速成)].

    (2) The appointees may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours or work irregular hours or on shifts.

    (3) The typical working hours on shift are as follows:

    Mondays to Fridays:

    (i) 8:45am – 5:33pm,

    (ii) 11:12am – 8:00pm, OR

    (iii) 1:12pm – 10:00pm,

    Saturdays: 8:30am – 6:00pm.

    • Term Executive Assistant II (Mainland Projects) (Ref: PEAK/EA2/3409/17-18)

    Major Duties: 

    (a) To provide support in the following areas relating to PEAK’s Mainland projects: 

    (i) general administration work; 

    (ii) secretarial assistance and correspondence drafting; 

    (iii) procurement, supplies and inventory control;

    (iv) arrangement for transportation, catering and accommodation;

    (v) logistics and on-site support for exchange activities.

    (b) To provide IT support and audiovisual system support for meetings, seminars and exchange activities;

    (c) To perform general office duties, including filing, e-filing, photocopying, Chinese and English word processing, data input, compilation of reports and venue setup.

    Requirements:

    (a)(i) 5 subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) at Grade E/Level 2 or above including English Language (Syllabus B)*, Chinese Language and Mathematics, or equivalent; OR

    (ii) A combination of results in 5 subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination at Level 2 or above in New Senior Secondary subjects / “Attained” or above in Applied Learning subjects / Grade E or above in Other Language subjects; and the 5 subjects should include English Language*, Chinese Language and Mathematics; OR

    (h) Good communication skills, interpersonal skills and be customer-orientated.

    (2) Preference will be given to candidates who can report for duty immediately.

    • Term Officer (Mainland Projects) (Ref: PEAK/OFF/3309/17-18)

    Major Responsibilities:

    The incumbent will be required to assist in planning, organizing and coordinating various projects, including Mainland projects.  The major duties include:  

    (a) Planning, designing, organizing of training programs;

    (b) Liaising with government bodies and corporate organizations in Hong Kong and in the Mainland for project development and implementation;

    (c) Liaising with and receiving delegations from Mainland Bureaux, Government departments, and Vocational Education and Training institutions;

    (d) Developing courseware for the training programs; 

    (e) Preparing and producing publications and publicity materials; and

    (f) Assisting in achieving sales targets.

    Requirements:

    (a) A recognized degree, or equivalent;

    (b) At least 2 years' working experience;

    (c) Solid experience in handling projects in the Mainland context, experience in liaising with Mainland Bureaux and Government Departments will be an added advantage; 

    (d) Good experience in project administration:

    (e) Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills;

    (f) Self-motivated, energetic, dedicated and presentable;

    (g) Both result-oriented and service-oriented; and

    (h) Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua.

    Note

    1. Shortlisted Candidates will be required to attend a written test in both English and Chinese.

    2. Successful applicants will be required to perform duties outside normal office hours, including Sundays and public holidays.

    3. Successful applicants will be required to travel to the Mainland occasionally.
