Applicant for online registration should be the candidate himself/herself. Applicant should read the Information Leaflet on Written Examination for Candidates Applying for Registration as Lift Engineers and/or Escalator Engineers under the Lifts and Escalators Ordinance (“the Information Leaflet”) of the Examination Board (Registration of Lift Engineers and Escalator Engineers) (“Examination Board”) formed by representatives from the City University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the University of Hong Kong and Electrical & Mechanical Services Department, and Examination Regulations and Online Registration Instructions of the PEAK Exam Centre carefully before registration.

NOTES ON PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTION in Connection with the Written Examination for Candidates Applying for Registration as Lift Engineers and/or Escalator Engineers

The following Notes are prepared to assist candidates in understanding their rights and obligations in respect of the supply of candidates’ personal data to the PEAK Exam Centre and the Examination Board and the way in which the PEAK Exam Centre and the Examination Board may use or handle such data in connection with the Written Examination for Candidates Applying for Registration as Lift Engineers and/or Escalator Engineers and other matters.

The PEAK Exam Centre and/or the Examination Board may use the personal data collected or generated during administration of the examination for the following purposes and/or in the following manner:
  1. (a) administering the examination and other directly related purposes including but not limited to the release of examination results, posting of examination results on the PEAK Exam Centre website for candidates’ checking and downloading (unless the candidate has expressly disagreed to such posting in writing).

  2. (b) disclosing or transferring candidates’ personal data and examination results to the Examination Board for monitoring purpose and the purposes of assisting the Examination Board to perform and discharge its functions;

  3. (c) conducting research or statistical analysis in an anonymous format in which the identities of candidates are not traceable;

  4. (d) assisting tertiary institutions and other government/public organizations in their admission processes;

  5. (e) assisting tertiary institutions and other government/public organizations in respect of their requests for information in granting scholarships;

  6. (f) assisting tertiary institutions and other government/public organizations to confirm the candidates’ eligibility for financial assistance or other forms of subsidization, in which case, the necessary personal data of the candidates may have to be disclosed to the concerned organizations for verification;

  7. (g) processing any refund or payment in relation to the examination;

  8. (h) disclosing or transferring candidates’ personal data to the venue provider(s) for record of visits, if necessary; and

  9. (i) marketing the services and products of the Examination Board (including examination services, courses, events, publications, and other examination materials or resources) subject to the consent of the candidates*; or *If candidates have given consent but wish to withdraw their consent for personal data to be used for this purpose, please send a letter of request directly to the PEAK Exam Centre.

  10. (l) conducting any other lawful activities with purposes directly related to the above.
If candidates fail to provide all necessary data may affect application for and administration of the examination (including verification of their identity and/or processing and/or distribution of their examination results).

Note: Candidates are entitled to request access to or to request the correction of any data provided, in the manner and subject to the limitations prescribed in the Ordinance. Please read the “Notice on Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance” at the Information Leaflet for details or contact the PEAK Exam Centre (see contact details at the bottom of the website).

I, hereby confirm and acknowledge that I have read and understood the above Notes before furnishing my personal data to PEAK Exam Centre. I voluntarily consent to the use of such data (including the HKID Card no. or passport no.) and all personal data I previously supplied, if any, by the Examination Board for the purposes of discharging all or any of its functions described in the said Notes and for any other purposes directly related to those purposes.
Important Reminder
Please complete the online registration procedures (Select Examination Session >> Enter Candidate Particulars >> Provide Credit Card Information >> Complete Online Payment) within 20 minutes. In case of failure to complete the registration within 20 minutes or system breakdowns, the selected examination sessions will be released. You have to start over the registration procedures again.
