Important Note: Please read carefully and prepare the following information before registration

Applicant for online registration should be the candidate himself/herself. Applicant should read the Examination Rules for the Pleasure Vessel Operator Certificate of Competency (“the Examination Rules”) of the Marine Department (“MD”), and Examination Handbook and Online Enrolment Instructions of the PEAK Exam Centre carefully before registration.

I do not require any special arrangements for taking the examination, e.g. audio mode of examination. (Candidates should contact the PEAK Exam Centre if any special arrangements are required for taking the examination before registration. For examination with audio assistance (for illiterate person only), please contact the MD directly through its hotline at 2852 4895 or email at local_crt@mardep.gov.hk.)

Please have the following ready:

  • Hong Kong Identity Card / Passport
  • Credit Card (Visa / Master / UnionPay)
  • Hong Kong Mobile Telephone Number
Important Notice
  1. Examination fees are not refundable or transferable for a later examination or for other purposes.
  2. Before registration, please ensure that you:
    1. have read the Examination Rules of the MD, and Examination Handbook and Online Enrolment Instructions of the PEAK Exam Centre and satisfy all the eligibility criteria for Pleasure Vessel Operator Examination and Certification, including all documentary proof required and stipulated therein; and
    2. observe the Examination Rules of the MD and the Regulations of the Examination at Appendix I of the Examination Handbook of the PEAK Exam Centre. Otherwise, you will not be allowed to take the examination for a period as may be decided by the MD or the PEAK Exam Centre.
  3. A candidate applying for the Pleasure Vessel Operator Grade 2 Certificate (“PVOC2”) must:
    1. be at least 18 years of age when applying for an examination;
    2. have passed both PVOC2 Part A and Part B of the examination within two years;
    3. have attained the required eyesight standards;
    4. satisfy all the requirements stipulated under section 3.1 of the Examination Rules of the MD; and
    5. do not suffer from any physical handicap; or have declared and assessed by the MD as stipulated under section 5.10 of the Examination Rules.
    Note: Details concerning the examination and certification requirement may be found on the MD website and the Examination Rules of the MD. You may also contact the MD through its hotline at 2852 4895 or email at local_crt@mardep.gov.hk.
  4. Any person impersonating a candidate at examination (or aiding such act) will be prosecuted.
  5. You should not register for this examination if you are in the prohibition period that you:
    1. are not allowed to sit the examination by the MD or the PEAK Exam Centre; or
    2. contravened any misbehavior during the examination and are prohibited from sitting the examination for a period of 12 months from the date of examination for an initial breach and 24 months from the last contravention for further breaches.
    Please ensure that you are not being prohibited from sitting for re-examination before registration. Neither the MD nor the PEAK Exam Centre has any obligation to verify your registration and/or inform you whether you are still in the prohibition period. Otherwise, you will not be allowed to take the examination even if you have registered the examination, and any fees paid will not be refunded; or you will be regarded as having failed the examination even if you have sat for the examination.
NOTES ON PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTION in Connection with the Pleasure Vessel Operator Grade 2 Certificate of Competency Examination

In view of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (“the Ordinance”), the following Notes are prepared to assist you in understanding your rights and obligations in respect of the supply of your personal data to the PEAK Exam Centre and the way in which PEAK Exam Centre may use or handle such data in connection with the Pleasure Vessel Operator Grade 2 Certificate of Competency Examination and other matters.

The PEAK Exam Centre may use the personal data collected or generated for the following purposes:
  1. administering examinations and other directly related purposes including but not limited to the release of examination results, posting of examination results on the PEAK Exam Centre website for your own checking (unless you have expressly requested not to do so). Failure to provide all necessary data may affect the administration of the examinations, the processing and/or delivery of the examination results and/or the verification of your identity;
  2. transferring your personal data and examination results to the MD for monitoring and certification purposes and the purposes of assisting the MD to perform and discharge its functions;
  3. conducting research or statistical analysis;
  4. transferring your personal data to the venue provider(s) for record of visits, if necessary; or
  5. conducting other lawful activities with purposes directly related to the above.
Note: Candidates are entitled to request access to or to request the correction of any data provided, in the manner and subject to the limitations prescribed in the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance. Please read the “Notice relating to the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance” at Appendix II of the Examination Handbook for details or contact the PEAK Exam Centre for enquiries.

I, hereby confirm and acknowledge that I have read and understood the above Notes before furnishing my personal data to PEAK Exam Centre. I voluntarily consent to the use of such data (including the HKID Card no. or passport no.) and all personal data I previously supplied, if any, by the MD for the purposes of discharging all or any of its functions described in the said Notes and for any other purposes directly related to those purposes.
Important Reminder
Please complete the online registration procedures (Select Examination Session >> Enter Candidate Particulars >> Provide Credit Card Information >> Complete Online Payment) within 20 minutes. In case of failure to complete the registration within 20 minutes or system breakdowns, the selected examination sessions will be released. You have to start over the registration procedures again.
