Career Development for Finance Professionals Module 1: Guided by Holland’s RIASEC Interest Types

This module helps you discover your core occupational interests using the RIASEC model and align them with the full range of financial career opportunities in Hong Kong — with special focus on emerging high-growth areas.

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

• Understand the six RIASEC types and how they apply to different roles in Hong Kong's financial industry.
• Match each type to real financial positions — for example, Trader & Operations (Realistic), Quant & Risk (Investigative), Private Banker (Social), and Investment Banker (Enterprising).
• Map your personal RIASEC profile onto a practical matrix that covers FinTech, ESG/Green Finance, Greater Bay Area cross-border roles, and Wealth Management.
• Learn from real-life case studies and create your own career-interest alignment plan.
• Recognise Hong Kong-specific trends such as digitalisation, green finance, and cross-border growth, and select targeted professional qualifications (e.g., CFA, FRM, CFP) plus practical experience strategies to strengthen your competitiveness.
• Build an actionable career roadmap for the short, medium, and long term — including networking and personal branding techniques.
