This course aims to introduce Hong Kong's Prevention of Bribery Ordinance (the Ordinance) and elaborate on the corruption risks within the insurance industry. By enhancing insurance practitioners' understanding of the Ordinance and their awareness of corruption risks, the course is intended to improve their compliance with the law and their commitment to high ethical standards. This ensures that business operations are conducted fairly and in accordance with legal regulations, which not only helps to improve the overall image of the industry but also provides more reliable service guarantees for customers.
Part 1: Delve into the purpose and scope of the ordinance, as well as the integrity and anti-corruption principles that insurance practitioners should adhere to in their daily work. The effect of good corporate governance on combating corruption will also be discussed.
Part 2: Focus on the primary corruption risks within the insurance industry. By analysing real-life cases, participants will gain practical anti-corruption guidance and strategies. Also, the ETHICS-PLUS Model will also be introduced.
