This course focuses on the regulatory regime for stablecoins and its impact on the financial industry, with a special focus on Hong Kong, analysing its policy incentives, legal framework and the key contents of the Stablecoins Ordinance. Participants will understand how Hong Kong promotes the stablecoin regime through regulatory autonomy and compare Hong Kong’s policies with those of Chinese Mainland and Singapore to grasp regional regulatory trends. The course will also explore the opportunities that stablecoins bring to the financial industry, as well as the challenges they pose to virtual asset platforms and third-party payment institutions.
