Introduction:

The BSc (Hons) Global Business Management (Formerly BA (Hons) Business and International Management) is a degree programme offered by Northumbria University and operated by SHAPE. Students will be conferred the same award as Northumbria University home campus students.

This course has been designed to give you the ideal balance between a broad understanding of business, whilst developing your specialist knowledge in contemporary business management models and learning how to evaluate how businesses operate globally in an increasingly competitive environment.

The degree is awarded by Northumbria University in the United Kingdom.

Medium of Instruction:

All classes are conducted in English.

Programme Features:

Fast Track – Final Year Honours Degree

The programme provides a direct entry to obtain a bachelor degree in 18 months on a part-time basis.

Academically Sound and Highly Practical

Lectures are taught by Northumbria University lecturers and local field experts. Their varied exposures in their industries will provide you with up-to-date international and local real-life cases which allow you to gain rich practical insights.

Comprehensive Student Support

Comprehensive induction session and English workshops are available to students. You will also have access to all IVE/HKDI libraries and e-library which provide a comprehensive collection of up-to-date business books and online learning resources, allowing you to take part in learning anytime, anywhere.

Flexible Self-Study Hours

This programme adopts a sequential modular structure where students attend one to two lectures a week. This allows you, as a working student, to arrange your self-study more flexibly; and hence, retain your career advancement and earning power even during the study.

Programme Structure:

Entry Requirements:

Holders of VTC Higher Diploma in relevant Business subjects;

OR

Holders of VTC Professional Diploma in Business Management (with at least three years of relevant work experience*);

OR

Holders of Higher Diploma or Associate Degree or equivalent qualifications in relevant Business subjects awarded by recognised institutions will also be considered*.

*To be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by Northumbria’s academic staff. The documentation typically required for evaluation includes CVs, reflective statements and evidence that directly supports prior achievement of the Northumbria required learning outcomes.

English Proficiency Requirements:

Applicants holding post-secondary qualifications (e.g. Higher Diploma, Associate Degree) taught and assessed in English from recognised institutions;

OR

At least an overall IELTS score of 6.0 (with 5.5 in each component), or equivalent.
