The Institute of Professional Education And Knowledge (PEAK) is one of the member institutions of the Vocational Training Council responsible for the provision of in-service training and professional examination services.  More than 200 major companies have utilized its corporate training services.

Term Officer (IT)  (Ref: PEAK/OFF/6701/21-22)

Major Duties:
(a) System Development
(1) To be responsible for the system design, development and maintenance of web and mobile applications;
(2) To assist in the daily administration and support of mission-critical systems; and
(3) To review on the effectiveness of controls in the areas of technology and information security.
(b) Infrastructure Management
(1) To oversee and maintain the network, IT application systems with servers;
(2) To provide support on data centre management, operations and monitoring; and
(3) To manage IT systems and services on Windows / Linux / virtualization platforms.

Requirements:
(a) (1)    A recognized degree in IT or equivalent with at least 2 years' relevant work experience; OR
    (2) A recognized higher diploma in IT or equivalent with at least 5 years' relevant work experience;
(b) For Major Duties in (a) System Development,
    (1) Experience in RESTful API, AJAX, JavaScript, SQL, PHP and/or .NET development;
    (2) Hands-on experience in using open source JavaScript framework (e.g. React/Angular/JQuery);
(c) For Major Duties in (b) Infrastructure Management
    (1) Experience in security and network infrastructure such as Firewall, Routers, Switches, VPN, Load Balancer;
    (2) Experience in VMware ESXi, Linux and MS Window Server;
(d) Proficiency in English and Chinese; and
(e) Good interpersonal skills, self-initiative and be a good team player.

Notes:
(1) Appointees may be required to work irregular hours / outside normal office hours and / or at different work locations on a need basis.
(2) Appointees may be posted to any operational units of the VTC, for example a campus / centre, to carry out similar duties, and have different post titles which are subject to change at the Council’s discretion.

Part-time Lecturers (Ref: PEAK/PTL/6501/21-22)

Subject Areas: 
- BSc (Hons) Construction Management (CM)

Major Duties:
1. To develop learning / teaching materials;
2. To propose teaching plan;
3. To deliver the course face to face and carry out relevant tasks, such as controlling class discipline and taking student attendance;
4. To draft up assignments and exam papers, and to conduct the initial moderation of the exam papers; and
5. To supervise projects and assignments of students.

Requirements:
(a) A recognized Master degree in related disciplines and/or equivalent professional qualifications; and
(b) At least 4 years' relevant teaching or working experience;
(c) Knowledge in BIM Execution Plan, Revit, Navisworks and BIM 360 Glue would be a definite advantage*; and
(d) At least one year of experience in project supervision at tertiary education*.

*These requirements only apply to the module of Group Project 3 (a BIM course).

Term Technician (Ref: PEAK/TECH/6401/21-22)

Major Duties:
(a) To operate and maintain the PCs, servers and networking equipment, AV systems, etc.;
(b) To operate and maintain IT systems and services on Windows, Linux and virtualization platforms;
(c) To maintain the company website and related website design & content;
(d) To assist in hardware/software setups and troubleshooting for online learning systems (e.g. Moodle);
(e) To provide technical support for classes and handle the hotline for virtual classes;
(f) To assist in troubleshooting, installation, and inventory management, procurement of all equipment, hardware and software.

Requirements:
(a) A recognized higher diploma or higher certificate in Electronic Engineering, Information Technology, Multimedia or relevant discipline;
(b) At least 2 years in the administration of Windows, Linux Server and VM Enterprise Server;
(c) Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese; and
(d) Good communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills, be a good team player, independent and self-motivated.

Candidates with experience and/or knowledge in one or more of the following area(s) will be an advantage:
(i) Website development and web programming using languages such as SQL, Flutter, Python, PHP, jQuery, JavaScript, HTML5, and/or CSS;
(ii) Mobile Apps development and software development; and
(iii) Operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of computer hardware and networking.

Notes:
(1) The appointee is required to perform duties at different sites and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays as necessary.

Term Executive Assistant II (Ref: PEAK/EA2(Exam)/6101/21-22)

Major Duties: 
(a) To provide quality support in one or more of the following areas for professional examinations:
(i) Invigilation;
(ii) Counter services;
(iii) Candidate enrolment & records;
(iv) Fee collection;
(v) Preparation of documents;
(vi) Other logistic support;
(b) To handle public enquiries; and
(c) To provide clerical and general administrative support service to the office.

Requirements:
(a)(i) 5 subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) at Grade E/Level 2 or above including English Language (Syllabus B)*, Chinese Language and Mathematics, or equivalent; OR
   (ii)    A combination of results in 5 subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination at Level 2 or above in New Senior Secondary subjects / "Attained" or above in Applied Learning subjects / Grade E or above in Other Language subjects; and the 5 subjects should include English Language*, Chinese Language and Mathematics; OR
   (iii) A recognized Certificate / Diploma / Foundation Diploma / Foundation Certificate, or Project Yi Jin.
* Completion of Hong Kong Vocational English Programme (HKVEP) at Level 2/Passing 5 specific VTC’s Vocational English Module Certificates is considered an alternative qualification.
(b) Preferably with 2-3 years relevant invigilation/customer service fields experience;
(c) Meticulous and with good customer service and problem solving skills;
(d) Good communication skills in English, Cantonese and Putonghua;
(e) Proficiency in computer software application, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing;
(f) Good interpersonal and organizational skills;

(a) To provide general accounting services in respect of:
(i) financial planning and management;
(ii) costing financial analysis and management reporting; and
(iii) treasury / ledger accounting;
(b) To help in the development and implementation of accounting policies, guidelines, procedures and computerized financial systems;
(c) To conduct feasibility study on new initiatives; and
(d) To lead and supervise a team of staff.

Requirements:
(a) A recognized relevant degree, or equivalent professional qualifications;
(b) At least two years’ relevant work experience preferably in sizeable organizations;
(c) Good command of English and Chinese;
(d) Good proficiency in Microsoft Office Software and computerized accounting/procurement systems;
(e) Be proactive and able to work independently; and
(f) Good problem solving, time management, interpersonal and communication skills.
