The Institute of Professional Education And Knowledge (PEAK) is one of the member institutions of the Vocational Training Council responsible for the provision of in-service training and professional examination services.  More than 200 major companies have utilized its corporate training services.

 

Part-time Lecturers

Subject Areas:
 - Horticulture
 - Arboriculture 

Major Duties:
1.    To perform teaching duties;
2.    To develop course curriculum and teaching materials;
3.    To develop and prepare assignments, examination papers and marking schemes;
4.    To mark students’ assignments and examinations;
5.    To carry out duties related to student and academic administration; and
6.    To participate in networking with industry and departmental projects and functions including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies and seminars.

Requirements:
(a)    A recognised degree in the discipline of Horticulture/Arboriculture/Landscape/Forestry or equivalent;
(b)    At least 3 years’ relevant industry or training experience;
(c)    Preferably with a qualification offered by a professional institution or industry organisation on horticulture/arboriculture; and
(d)    Good communication, teaching and facilitation skills in both English and Chinese.

Term Officer (Business Development)

Major Duties: 

(a)    To market and promote PEAK’s programmes and services to potential clients;
(b)    To collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including business partners and corporate clients, to manage programme-related activities and organise training events;
(c)    To perform student admission, record management and programme administration for corporate training programmes, CPD programmes and award-bearing programmes;
(d)    To compile and review statistics and reports related to enrolment, student performance and feedback for programme planning and accreditation exercises;
(e)    To oversee and ensure the smooth operation of evening classes, examinations and counter services;
(f)    To assist in general office administration, system administration and enhancement, and quality assurance; and
(g)    To undertake committee work in various committees, boards and meetings.

Requirements:
(a)    A recognised degree or equivalent qualification;
(b)    At least 2 years’ relevant experience in CPD training, corporate training and/or programme administration and quality assurance;
(c)    Experience in business development and client management in an educational or training setting is highly preferable;
(d)    Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently and effectively under pressure;
(e)    Flexibility to work shifts to accommodate training programmes scheduled during evenings and weekends;
(f)    Ability to multitask, prioritise and manage time efficiently; and
(g)    Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.

Term Officer (Accounting)

Major Duties: 

(a)    To perform duties in respect of one or more of the following areas:
(i)    Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly financial statements;
(ii)    Prepare reports for financial analysis and costing analysis;
(iii)    Accounting daily operation, budget clearance and annual budget exercises; and
(iv)    Assist the Head Office of Finance to liaise with the external auditor for the annual audit;

(b)    To help in the development and implementation of accounting policies, guidelines, procedures and computerised financial systems;

(c)    To conduct feasibility study on new initiatives; 

(d)    To supervise and coordinate the work of clerical and supporting staff to ensure effective operation and management of the operating unit; and

(e)    To undertake specific projects and tasks as assigned.

Requirements:
(a)    A recognised relevant degree, or equivalent professional qualifications;
(b)    At least two years’ relevant work experience preferably in sizeable organisations;
(c)    Good command of English and Chinese;
(d)    Good proficiency in Microsoft Office Software and computerised accounting/procurement systems; 
(e)    Good problem solving, time management, interpersonal and communication skills; and
(f)    Proactive, able to work independently, and meet tight schedules.

(a)    (i)    5 subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) at Grade E/Level 2 or above including English Language (Syllabus B)*, Chinese Language and Mathematics, or equivalent; OR
(ii)    A combination of results in 5 subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination at Level 2 or above in New Senior Secondary subjects / “Attained” or above in Applied Learning subjects / Grade E or above in Other Language subjects; and the 5 subjects should include English Language*, Chinese Language and Mathematics; OR 
(iii)    A recognised Certificate / Diploma / Foundation Diploma / Foundation Certificate, or Project Yi Jin;

To provide support in the following areas:
(i)    fee collection and processing refund;
(ii)    preparing demand notes and official receipts;
(iii)    assist in preparing monthly financial statements, regular reports and year-end exercise;
(iv)    daily administrative work, such as filing and data entry;
(v)    drafting simple correspondence; and
(vi)    handling enquiries.

Requirements:
(a)    (i)    5 subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) at Grade E/Level 2 or above including English Language (Syllabus B)*, Chinese Language and Mathematics, or equivalent; OR
        (ii)    A combination of results in 5 subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) Examination at Level 2 or above in New Senior Secondary subjects / “Attained” or above in Applied Learning subjects / Grade E or above in Other Language subjects; and the 5 subjects should include English Language*, Chinese Language and Mathematics; OR

(c)    Good communication, interpersonal, organisational, administrative and problem solving skills;
(d)    Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently and effectively under pressure;
(e)    Ability to multitask, prioritise and manage time efficiently;
(f)    Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua; and
(g)    Good IT knowledge and skills would be an advantage.
